Sly and the Family Stone Fresh Alternate Cd

1. Years ago I had a copy of Fresh with the famous alternating mixes of near half the anthology. I seem to remember it was on vinyl withal co-ordinate to discogs the alternate mixes were only on a CD reissue. Does anyone know if a copy of Fresh was issued on vinyl at any time with the alternate mixes?

   Which of the mixes do you prefer? As the alternate version was the first I heard of this anthology I got used to them and prefer these mixes to the official version.

2. The alternater mix, which is actually the first mix, was pressed as a test set in March 1973 merely was never officially released on vinyl.

   In 1990 when fresh came out in cd, the incorrect master was pulled and this mix was just bachelor for a short time.

   In Japan and holland it was the common version for years....

3. I had this CD. I recollect vividly ownership it and suddenly thinking - what the hell is this? It was later that I read in Ice that they pulled the wrong "chief". I seem to have misplaced that CD (I may yet have it, as I probably put it somewhere then that it "wouldn't get lost"). I'd similar to repurchase it. Is there any information on what Japan CD's conctain the alternate album?

7. I tin't actually comment on whether the mixes on the Higher box prepare are what you are looking for, only it is an infrequent box set that whatever Sly and the Family unit Stone fan should own. See below.

9. That alternating vocal is a real pilus-raiser: Sly sounds completely unhinged. Thank you to whoever it was on hither who first alerted me to this rarity.

10. I take to come dorsum on my Original statement that the Fresh anthology with the alternate mixes was never released on vinyl!!!

    I did already ain a ready of 10 1 sided mono acetates of the alternate mix, but.....

    Today I bought an actual pre release UK pressed vinyl album of the alternate mix!!! It even got an alternating release number than the comon 1973 United kingdom of great britain and northern ireland release.

    The anthology contains 10 songs and is missing the vocal "in time", which are the same tracks of my acetate prepare.
    Also the anthology doesn't accept a title yet, it only states STFS and lacks the anthology championship Fresh.

    I was told this was an early on promo press for reviews purpose. Only a handfull were pressed in the UK

    This really fabricated my 24-hour interval

14. An earlier mail suggests that 'In Time' was added to the track listing very late, afterwards the original mix was sent out for promo purposes, and is identical in mix on both editions.

15. I just bought it on line so I can only upload the epitome i took on line from Side one.
    In one case the anthology arrives i will mail service the other Side. The album comes in a plain white sleeve.

    

    This release is the actual vinyl version that was sent out for review purposes. At the fourth dimension the album didnt even had a proper name yet! It fits the story that some journaliste were dissapointed when the bodily album came out. They probably prefered this anthology over the official release.

    Would be interessant to find out through the catalogue number, which is unlike (S EPC 69039 - Original), when this early version (Due south EPC 65444) was released....

16. I'm going to admit here that my experience of this record is solely on the European CD, which I've had for many years.

    I downloaded the 'official' release concluding night and information technology'south quite a shock - I'm not sure either if it'southward an comeback.

    The original mix is far less cluttered, and probably sounds a lot better to our 21st century ears than the actual release.

17. Sorry which is the series number for the alternating European union cd version? On Discogs I simply see the following. Is EK 32134 the alt along with ESCA 5385 as mentioned above or is the Eu alt not listed? Does anyone know if you can pick up this CD on Amazon at a reasonable toll or is it crazy prices at present?

23. I saw a Fresh anthology for sale with an unknown reference number. The seller didn't fifty-fifty know what he was selling.

    I will cheque if the audio of this anthology is the same as the CD and allow you lot know
